Position Summary

TC Running Company is looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Assistant Manager to join our Maple Grove team.

As an Assistant Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role in the daily operations of our Maple Grove store. You’ll be the right hand to the Store Manager, ensuring our customers receive best‑in‑class service while supporting the team with staff development, inventory flow, and operational excellence. This is an active, hands‑on role for someone who loves connecting with people, assisting in leading a team, and keeping a store running smoothly.

Availability

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and events.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Sales Leadership

  • Lead by example on the sales floor, providing expert gait analysis, footwear fitting, and gear recommendations
  • Ensure every customer is greeted and supported promptly, especially during high‑traffic periods
  • Maintain a positive, energetic store atmosphere that reflects TCRC’s community‑driven culture
  • Serve as a keyholder, overseeing secure and accurate opening/closing procedures

Store Operations

  • Assist with receiving shipments, tagging inventory, and keeping the sales floor fully stocked and organized
  • Support online order fulfillment, including picking, packing, shipping, and BOPIS requests
  • Maintain store cleanliness, bathroom checks, and backroom organization throughout the day
  • Participate in weekly cycle counts and help identify inventory discrepancies
  • Process incoming and outgoing transfers between store locations

Team Support & Development

  • Help onboard and train new Sales Associates on product knowledge and technical fitting protocols
  • Provide real‑time coaching on the floor to ensure consistent service and policy compliance
  • Stay up‑to‑date on new footwear launches, gear technology, and industry trends
  • Support a positive, collaborative team environment

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of specialty retail or customer‑facing leadership experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of running mechanics, footwear categories, and technical apparel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and coach a team
  • Experience with Shopify POS or similar retail systems
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
  • A genuine passion for running, walking, or general fitness
